What Goes in Your Tool Belt?
Whether you are a hard-working tradie or a jack-of-all-trades at home, a well-equipped tool belt can be invaluable. A well-organised cheap Makita tool belt allows you to easily carry your tools, climb stairs safely and work more efficiently and quickly.
A well-designed tool belt allows an experienced DIY weekend warrior (or woman) or professional tradesperson to intuitively access the right tool without leaving the eyes of the task at hand.
Saves Time and Effort
A good tool belt has two side pockets, each with smaller pockets. It can carry tools of different sizes and shapes, as well as fasteners. The tools favoured by the dominant hand (hammer, pencil, for example) must be stored on the corresponding side of the tool belt.
The main tools for the dominant hand include:
- nail puller or claw hammer
- chalk line
- pencil (carpenter’s) and pen or Sharpie
- lineman’s pliers
- utility Knife
- putty knife
Include and keep these secondary tools on the opposite side of the tool belt:
- various nail sets
- cold chisel
- 4 in 1 screwdriver
- torpedo level
- electrical tape
The measuring tape can sit between bigger pockets.
You can also add accessories such as drills carriers to maximise the number of tools you can wear safely and comfortably on your body. Heavy tool straps can be more comfortable and protect your back in the long run if used with broad-banded suspenders to reduce some of the load.
Do not forget to include goggles/glasses, gloves and hearing protection! If you work in a dusty environment, especially with asbestos, dust masks are also essential.
Tool belts can be used with front or back pockets; however, wearing it towards the rear makes it easier for you to bend while you work.
When fitting your belt strap, you should choose a high-quality wrist strap. In this case, high quality does not mean a high price. The line of Makita tool belts is priced low enough to say that they are cheap. However, you will find that these belts will stand the test of time and will deliver excellent value at a very reasonable price.
Do you want a reasonably-priced tool belt that delivers a professional solution for hard-working carpenters and builders? Well, a cheap Makita tool belt features five leather-lined handy pockets which can cover most trade applications.
